Winemaking history started way back 6000 years BC. It became popular in ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt. There are two general categories to make wine production of still wine and sparkling wine production.

Mark Teixeira hit two home runs today, but it was not enough, as the Yankees lost to the Royals 7-4. Sergio Mitre took the loss, going 4.2 innings, giving up seven hits and seven runs. (5 earned) Mitre threw 72 pitches, 44 for strikes.

Both Brett Gardner (acid reflux) and Nick Swisher (achilles) were not in the lineup, though Swisher did hit a pinch-hit fly out. The Yankees offense came from two home runs by Teixeira and a solo home run off the bat of Jorge Posada.

Alex Rodriguez did not hit his 600th home run, as he went 1-4. A-Rod will go for 600 tomorrow vs. Sean O'Sullivan, who you may remember as the starter for the Angels who beat the Yankees earlier this week (traded in the Alberto Callaspo deal)

The final out of the game caused controversey, as there was first and second with two outs for Teixeira. Teixeira hit a ground ball to Yuniesky Betancourt, who fired it to first and appeared to have gotten the out at first to end the game. The out was called, but the replays showed that Teixeira was actually safe. If safe, the bases would have been loaded for Alex Rodriguez and A-Rod would have had a chance to hit a walk off grand slam for number 600.

Comment of the Game: Not the funniest comment by far of the game, but jeeptheheap gets it because I completely agree with him.

The Sandusky Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on State Route 19 at Portage River South Road south of Oak Harbor, Ohio. The two vehicle crash occurred Friday July 16, 2010 at 2300 hours. Driver unit #1: 41 year old Timothy L. Johnson 3470 South Woodrick Road Oak Harbor, Ohio. Mr. Johnson was not wearing a seat belt, however, the vehicle’s front air bag did deploy. He sustained incapacitating injuries and was transported to Port Clinton Magruder Hospital by Mid County EMS. Toledo St. Vincent’s Life Flight later transferred Mr. Johnson to the Medical University of Ohio in Toledo where he is currently listed in critical condition. Mr. Johnson was driving a 2004 GMC Sierra pick up truck. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed to Terry’s Towing in Williston, Ohio. Driver unit #2: 20 year old Olivia T. Duty 4450 County Road 44 Woodville, Ohio. Restraint usage is unknown at this time and the vehicle’s air bags did not deploy. Ms. Duty sustained incapacitating injuries and was transported by Toledo St. Vincent’s Life Flight to the Medical University of Ohio in Toledo, Ohio where she is currently listed in stable condition. She was driving a 1999 Mazda Protégé which sustained severe damage and was towed to Terry’s Towing. Passenger unit #2: 24 year old Ian C. Hoffman 427 Rice Street Elmore, Ohio. The Life of a Child in 2010

Whether their mothers work outside of the home or not, parents are very afraid to let their children play outside unsupervised because of the threat of child abduction. Because of this fear and because more activities are available to families outside of the home today, any movement activities are generally very structured and require little experimentation or spontaneity.

Kids spend most of their time at home watching television or DVD’s when they are not playing video games. These children do not development good laterality or visual-motor abilities because they are not moving as much and what movement is done is very structured and planned.

They are also not developing good visualization skills because the images are coming into their brains from the screen rather than being created in their brains and then played out in the real world.

Even in the normal visual developmental sequence, a child does not become visually mature and dominant until he or she is at least five to six years of age. Since this is the time that children today are required to start reading in most cases, it’s imperative that good visual development takes place before they enter school.
